No Heaven Without You[Ep.17]

Days went by and just when I thought he'd be in there forever he was released and I was supposed to go pick him up. His mom was filling his prescriptions and since I hadn't left the hospital since he was admitted and was the only person there, she asked me if I could drive him home. "Ready to go?" I asked him. I had packed everything of his in two plastic sacks a nurse had provided. He nodded and tried to maneuver himself off the bed and into the wheelchair all on his own but with a broken leg, a shattered elbow, a dislocated shoulder and not to mention all the internal atrocities and bruising on almost every inch of his body -- though those were turning yellow now and some were almost invisible -- him getting from the bed to the wheelchair all on his own was completely impossible. But, to my amazement he managed though by the time he sat down I could tell it was all he could do not to yelp out in pain and cry. "Joey, could you help me?" I asked myself sarcastically. I heard him scoff. "I'm perfectly capable of doing it on my own." He told me. "Without causing immense amounts of pain?" I asked him. He scoffed again. "Oh, Nick . . ." The car ride home seemed more bumpy than ever it seemed like there were potholes every two feet and each time he moaned in agony. "I'm sorry, baby, I'm sorry." I said as I grabbed his hand which was gripping the cup holder. I didn't expect his grip to be so hard but I didn't dare pull away. I started to worry. . "Are you sure they didn't ...
